ABOUT

Come stay with us in Colorado!

In 2017 we bought the historic Chaffee County Poor Farm located in Salida, Colorado. Founded in 1885, The Poor Farm was built to house the destitute in exchange for help working the land.

When we bought the place it had fallen into a state of disrepair, and we spent 2 years refurbishing and remodeling it ourselves. It was a huge and exhausting project, but it’s been so fulfilling to be able to preserve this incredible historic property. The Poor Farm is on the National Historic Register and is a crowning jewel of Salida architecture and history.

The guesthouse sits perched on a bluff along the Arkansas River with a private riverfront beach, access to local hiking trails and incredible mountain views. 5 minutes from the quaint mountain town of Salida, Colorado which is 3 hours southwest of Denver.
