On a wintry day in the mountains, my friend asked me to make him a cocktail that tasted like a leather boot. This was what I came up with and it’s surprisingly delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Bulleit Rye
- 1 oz scotch like Laphroaig
- 0.5 oz Black Walnut liqueur
- 0.5 oz Fernet Branca
- Sage Bitters or Hair of the Dog Bitters (2 dropperfuls)
- Pinch of Alderwood Smoked Salt
Preparation:
- Add the Bulleit Rye, Scotch, Black Walnut liqueur, Fernet Branca, and a few dashes of Sage Bitters or Hair of the Dog Bitters to a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well until chilled.
- Strain into a glass over a large ice cube.
- Finish with a pinch of Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt.
