It’s been a hell of a hot summer, so we came up with this drink to cool ya down. Simple and perfect for making in large batches for a backyard party. Basil and Pine are both very aromatic flavors that combine well with citrus and mint, so they were the perfect pair when coming up with this twist on the classic Mojito.
Cheers!
Ingredients:
Serving size 2-4 cocktails
– 3 oz white Rum- we used Colorado Montanya Rum
– 2 oz DRAM Pine Syrup
– 2 oz fresh squeeze lime juice
– 6 shakes DRAM Hair of The Dog Bitters
– 1/4 cup fresh Basil, plus some leaves for garnish
– 1/4 cup fresh Mint
– fresh sliced Limes for garnish
-ice
Directions:
In a blender combine the Rum, Pine Syrup, lime juice and bitters. Pour into a freezer safe container and freeze for 1 hour, or overnight. The idea behind this is to add a frozen mix to the blender with ice before blending- which will help the drink stay frozen longer on hot days.
After the mixture has frozen add to a blender with 4-6 cups ice and fresh basil and mint. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture over ice and garnish with fresh cut limes and basil.
Enjoy!
