Rye, Raspberry & Dandelion Cocktail Recipe

Dandelions are commonly considered weeds, but instead of spraying them with toxic pesticides we choose to honor them for the wonderful plant they are. The roots can be dug up and roasted and used as herbal medicine or an alternative to coffee. The flower petals provide an earthy pop of both color and flavor to food and drinks.

Ingredients:

– 1 oz. Rye Whiskey

– 1/2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur, we suggest the brand St. George as theirs is all natural and actually tastes like the fruit

– 1/4 oz. lemon juice

– 3 shakes DRAM Hair of The Dog Bitters

– dandelion petals for drink and garnish (be sure the plants you pick from have not been sprayed with pesticides!)

Directions:

In a cocktail mixing glass combine ice, rye, raspberry liqueur, lemon juice, dandelion petals and bitters. Shake very well, pour into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Add a few additional dashes of bitters and freshly plucked dandelion petals.

Rest in Peace Verona 🙂
